An Acoustic Christmas with Over the Rhine
Over the Rhine is an Ohio based folk music band… The heart of this band is a musical partnership between husband and wife. They had already developed a huge and loyal following in their native Cincinnati, Ohio before releasing their first two albums.
Anyone who hears them quickly falls in love with Karin’s compelling voice. In January 2008 Paste Magazine’s video podcast interviewed them and featured their live performance. Paste magazine also named their The Long Surrender one of the Top 50 Records of the year.
They have shared the stage with many great, talented and notable musicians including: Bob Dylan, John Prine, Ani DiFranco, and My Morning Jacket.
Newsday described their music as “aggressively beautiful, like those ’60s protesters who confronted soldiers with flowers,” while USA Today made note of the group’s “mature, graceful and sad songs (and) intimate, soulful arrangements,” which “showcase Bergquist’s achingly beautiful voice.”
